Danny was born in Nigeria and lived there for ten years as a missionary kid. He worked and studied in Mexico, Bolivia and Spain and speaks fluent Spanish. He loves to bang out chords on his guitar, play soccer and ride his motorcycle. In quieter moments he likes to read Greek and Roman history and watch Liverpool play soccer. His professional background took him from banking to mortgage lending and eventually to Smart Shield Property Management.
Matthew was born in Boston at a very young age, but eventually saw the light, moved to North Carolina, attended NC State University, and met his wife. He has worked in local real estate since 2003. His early real estate career included renovation project management and sales of local single family residential real estate. Whereas he initially focused his work with investors on acquisitions and development, later on he expanded to working with retail buyers and sellers. During the real estate downturn, he realized that his listings would not sell, so he approached his sellers with inquiries about property management. With those insights in mind, he birthed Smart Shield Property Management with a combined focus on management and sales. When not working, you will find him spending time with his family, reading a book, riding his bike or attending an NC State sporting event. He also writes longer bios than Danny. This is how he describes himself!
